CSVTools.pro ("we", "our", or "the website") provides browser-based tools for working with CSV and JSON files. This policy describes file processing and the separate third-party services used by the website.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use this website and how it is handled.

All CSV file processing performed by the tools on this website happens locally within your web browser.

When you upload or drag a file into the tool:

• the file is processed directly in your browser
• the file is not uploaded to our servers
• we do not store, retain, or access the contents of your files

Tool data is held in the page's browser memory while you work. Refreshing or closing the page clears that working state. A result is saved to your device only when you choose to download it.

If you email contact@csvtools.pro, your email provider and the receiving email service process your address, message and any attachment. The information is used to read and respond to your enquiry. Please do not send real customer files, credentials or confidential datasets.

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, only with your consent to optional analytics. Until you accept, we do not load the Google Analytics script, send Google Analytics requests or create Google Analytics cookies. Rejecting Google Analytics does not affect any CSV or JSON tool.

After acceptance, Google receives page visits, page titles, tool-use events (such as conversion or download actions), counts of rows, columns or files, and technical information such as browser and device details. Google also receives connection information, including your IP address, when handling a request. Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. We do not send filenames, file contents, column names or cell values. GA4 page URLs and referrers supplied by our tracking code omit query strings and fragments.

We also use Umami Cloud for cookieless, aggregate statistics to count visits and tool usage, not to identify individuals. Umami runs by default unless you opt out below, independently of your Google Analytics choice. Our Umami setup does not set cookies or store a visitor identifier in local storage, and we do not call its user-identification feature.

Umami receives page titles, the full page URL including query strings, campaign parameters and fragments, the referrer supplied by your browser, and technical information such as browser, language and screen size. A tool_used event contains only a fixed tool name, never a filename, file contents, column names, cell values or other information from your files. Please do not put personal or confidential information in page URLs. As a hosted provider, Umami receives connection information, including your IP address, when handling requests; cookieless statistics do not mean that no connection information is processed. See Umami's Privacy Policy for its processing practices. Opting out stops future Umami tracking, but cannot undo data already sent.

Our basis for Google Analytics is your consent. We use statistics to understand how the site is used and improve it, not to process your files. Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration. We do not load advertising scripts.

Google may process analytics information on servers outside the UK. Its processing and transfer safeguards are described in Google's Privacy Policy and its GA4 data privacy guidance. Analytics data retention is also subject to the settings of our Google Analytics property; the cookie lifetimes below are not a statement of Google's server-side retention period.

We store your acceptance or rejection in first-party local storage under csvtools.analytics-consent for 180 days, so we can respect your choice. This necessary preference contains your choice, a policy version and an expiry time, not an analytics identifier. We ask again after expiry. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page session.

After acceptance, GA4 may set _ga and _ga_49KEFS3KTV first-party cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. Our tag limits their lifetime to 180 days and disables automatic expiry renewal. Your browser may also retain ordinary cached site files.

Choose Reject analytics in the banner to opt out of Google Analytics, or reopen Cookie settings in the footer at any time. This withdrawal stops further Google Analytics, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload the tracking code. Download any work you need before withdrawing, because a reload clears tool data held in memory. Withdrawal does not undo information already sent while consent was active. Clearing site storage in your browser also clears the saved choice.

This website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.

Local browser processing avoids transferring file contents to the website server, but you remain responsible for securing the device and any downloaded output. Email providers apply their own security and retention practices under their respective policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page.
